As for "playing a few days after 17/5", that's not an indication of when you were marked for banning. The last massive trade I had made was a week ago, and I wasn't banned until June 3rd.
The thing is I am being accused of something I did not do, and I don't even think someone had hacked my account and did something with it.

What I am saying is that they are accusing me of something which have not happened (I don't trade with other players FULL STOP, I play by myself and sometimes with my brother who's account is still fine), and I don't know why they have a log of me doing something at that time.

If someone actually hacked into my account and did those deeds, then they need to give me a chance to change my password and let me play on. I don't download 3rd party program or any stupid programs.

I am innocent.

seeing as how my main account was banned at about this time...and i can assure you i would never be retarded enough to touch a bot program...it makes me wonder how many of those 1,000 accounts were actually botters...especially since there seem to be plenty of botters left in GW.

It's a good thing I trained my hampster to hit the exact combination of keys required to farm the elona minotaurs, since the EULA says nothing about 3rd-party animals assisting you.

This may have already been mentioned previously, but I couldn't see it. So here's my two pennies worth.

When will Anet introduce the long-awaited auction house? Surely this will put an end to botting (I guess anyone trying to auction gold would be easy to spot).

Of course I may just missing an obvious loophole

Please enlighten me.

Good news all, Arlan has been rinstated, without any reason given or any nature of apology at all. I suppose at least Arlan has been let back in, the good news for other is that if Arlan has been reinstated after being wrongfully banned then so can you. I would reccommend at the very least being civil, as mentioned above, these guiys are trying to do a job, and even though they never seem to accept any culpability for any mistakes in their (extensive) background checks, they obviously do get things wrong (to err is human and all of that). Thankfully they will listen to reason, eventually, and once the error of thier ways is repeatedly pointed out to them you have a chance of getting reinstated.

SAQ have you tried to contact GW directly, from what I can see here is that both Absolute Monk & Arlan contacted them directly, maybe you can try to open a ticket from the GW website to see if that might speed things up.

As we saw with Absolute Monk & Arlan that if you are inocent they will reinstate your account, yes I know it sucks being falsley accused and it also sucks being reinstated without an appology.

Keep the faith m8, & keep us posted

It's a plague. One of the recent updates banned thousands of bot accounts. Much help that did
They all came back. Well, I guess the Ebayers are still happy since they know they can still buy gold. Without these bots, there will be no gold to buy. I can forsee it, one day Guild Wars is completely free of bots and everyone has crapo looking armor and only the few can dawn 15k armor and not to mention FoW armor.

Smile Back - and with good reason!!!!

Hi

OK - first - thanks for the support from all over (several other 'tickets' opened on my behalf / on line petition (tks Dark)/various help and advise on threads such as this -

I got my account reinstated recently - about three weeks after being banned - during which i updated my ticket every few days requesting info/action/anything :-) - the responses were few and far between to be honest ...........

I have since been carrying on the conversation with NCsoft - because the first response since reinstatment was to just say that my account "was closed in error. "
After a bit of pushing for more info i receieved one to say '"that my charactor had been observed by a Moderator behaving in a automated fashion" - thereby leading them to believe i was controlled by a third party program.

OK - so what sort of 'automated behaviour' i hear you ask - so of course - not wanting to be caught out again i did ask the question - and they witnessed " suspicious and repetative bahviour"

That is it - that is what you all have to avoid 'suspicious and repetative behaviour'.............................
I presume this means going to the merchant 5 times in a few minutes / keep running into walls or obsticles -------- could be alot of things i suppose.

I also remember getting a few whispers at times which i ignored because i was busy or just being rude - this could also be a Moderator 'testing' if you are a live player. So - answer all whispers/chat as well - even if it's a one word reply.

Keep up the pressure SAQ and good luck.

If anyone wants any info / advice please send me a PM -
--- or get me in game - Arlan Tempus --not you SAQ!! -- or leave message on Guild Website - WWW.Starcainam.com

Off to kill things now -

I haven't contacted GW directly because I bought my GW in Taiwan and I was doing through the NCSOFT GMs in Chinese and then they transfer/translate(?) what I said to American GW GMs.
I guess I will wait a few more days from the reply, then I will get a ticket myself and try to contact American GW GMs. Since I believe some of my feelings and thoughts were lost in the translation and my English is better than my Chinese..

Since I admit, I was in Droknars International District using my Mo/W to buy some Prophecy skills (Canthan char) who is not a 55 (She doesn't have any sup rune or -50 off-hand).

I also admit I farm in a weird fashion, which may be suspicious of looking like a bot because I dual farm with my Brother, and one of us plays the supporting role (which is mostly what I do since my char is new and lvl 18 only), who does nothing but heals from far away (while the other one engages), follows around and picks up loot.

But definitely not trading with an Ebayer which apparently my account is branded with now...

You and your brother wouldnt happen to be sharing an ISP now would you?

Two accounts, same ISP, farms together all day. Hmn...that could look suspicious o.o

Updating my banned account, Finally NCSoft has contacted me (this is always a good sign), its taken more than a week but at least the wheels are in motion now. Supplied them with all relevant information they asked, I guess the ball is in their court now.
Congratulations to Arlan, hopefully I wont be too far away from getting reinstated also.
NCSoft did say they were sorry for the delay as they are processing more and more tickets of late. Perhaps the support team would be advised to contact those with tickets telling them of the delay instead of keeping them in suspense as this would reassure the people that yes it has been processed and yes it will be dealt with in a certain time frame (even suggest that there could be a week stand down period before the ticket gets dealt with). It was very frustrating not knowing what was happening and just this simple means would put peoples mind at easy knowing that it will get processed in due time.
I'm sure the NCSoft support team have alot on their plate at the moment with all the recent bannings but being in a customer support role at my work I also know that you deal with customer issues straight away (even if its some blatant @sshole (like myself)). :P
But regardless, I'm just happy that I've received a reply at this stage.

What I fail to see is how ArenaNet can make these fundamental errors. If they really do carry out a 'deep analysis' before they wave their somewhat cumbersome banstick, why are they falsely banning accounts? We need somebody, perhaps from the Department of Bans, to come here and tell us, without beating around the bush, why it is they manage to make such crashing mistakes.

The other thing that annoys me about all this is that ArenaNet (according to some guff on their website loosely related to the EULA) refuse, point blank, to give an implicit warning directly to the player. Instead, they wave their stick around some more and expect you to realise exactly what you've done wrong, if indeed you have done something wrong (which is looking less and less likely as time goes on), by being given a short ban.

Of course, I dislike botters. But I maintain the stance that the failure to catch any number of botters is better than the false banning of a legitimate player. If you can't be 100% certain that the account you're investigating is a bot, don't ban it. It's as simple as that. And if the account you were 100% certain was a bot turns out to be innocent, you weren't 100% certain. No computer program is going to catch botters only. You need to hire a crack team of sleuths. And change your warning system would help a lot too.

One other thing - the automated emails. Yes, I appreciate there's only so many emails people can read and reply to in a day. But sending emails which say 'we will not be accepting appeals in cases such as this' to innocent players is giving out the message that you don't care about them. And we all know you do care. Most of the time, a botter won't bother appealing because he will know he is in the wrong.

So please, give us an answer to the question that's on everybody's lips:

Why are so many innocent players being wrongfully banned, and what are you going to do to stop this happening?

Because this has to stop.

P.S. And to reinstate somebody's account without even a hint of an apology is just plain rude. By anybody's standards.

Who are you to dictate to Anet, oh Almighty, what they can and can't do?

Read the EULA sometimes

14. TERMINATION.

(a) NC Interactive reserves the right to suspend or terminate this Agreement (including your Software license and your Account) immediately and without notice if you breach this Agreement or willfully infringe any third party intellectual property rights, or if we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us, or upon game play, chat or any player activity whatsoever which is, in our sole discretion, inappropriate and/or in violation of the spirit of Guild Wars as described in the Rules of Conduct.

Should NC Interactive decide to suspend or terminate this Agreement with a User under any circumstances, the User will lose access to your Account.

(b) You agree that if the Service or your Account is suspended, terminated or cancelled for any reason or length of time, you are not entitled to any reimbursement or refund of any fees or unused access time.

You agreed to it. Disagree? Write to your MP someday about the ills of EULAs someday perhaps.
